Brief Achievements
Identified and reported three invasive whiteflies i.e. rugose spiralling whitefly, Aleurodicus rugioperculatus Martin (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), palm infesting whitefly Aleurotrachelus atratus Hempel and woolly whitefly Aleurothrixus floccosus (Maskell) for the first time from India as well as Oriental region.
Developed the augmentation and conservation strategies for the potential parasitoid Encarsia guadeloupae for management of rugose spiralling whitefly.
Novel mass production technology for parasitoid, Encarsia guadeloupae for the suppression of rugose spiralling whitefly A. rugioperculatus for the first time in India.
Identified and field validated a potential entomopathogenic fungus Isaria fumosorosea (strain ICAR-NBAIR pfu-5) for the management of A. rugioperculatus in coconut and oil palm.
Identified and registered a unique jute germplasm (WCIN 179; KC/AK/DS-54) of wild jute (INGR18023) showing complete resistance to Spilosoma obliqua.
Developed and validated a simulation model for assessment of impacts of climate change on pink stem borer, Sesamia inferensin rice.
Recognition
Awarded with “Best Young Scientist Award” for the year 2019 by Dr. B.V. David Foundation on 17th November at Chennai.
Awarded with “Best Young Disseminator Award (Eco-friendly pest management award)” in the 6th International conference on Bio-pesticides (BIOCICON 2019) held on 8th March, 2019 at Amity University, Raipur.
Awarded with “Best Young scientist award with certificate and cash prize” in the national conference on Entomology 2018 organized by Entomological society of India, Plant protection society of India held at PJTSAU, Hyderabad on12th December, 2018.
Awarded with “Certificate of Merit and Gold Medal” from District collector, Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu on 26th January, 2018 (69 Republic day function) for outstanding contribution in eco-friendly management of insect pests and diseases.
